Bastogne is a city in Wallonia in Belgium, near the border with Luxembourg. The city has approx. 15,000 inhabitants. The city became known during World War II. It played an important role in the Ardennes Offensive, when in December 1944 the Germans launched a final major offensive in northern Luxembourg and eastern Belgium.
