A Pratt Through-Truss Bridge is a type of metal truss bridge developed in the 19th century and widely used for railways, roads, and military transport.
The Pratt truss was designed by Thomas and Caleb Pratt and patented in the United States in 1844. Early examples were made from wood and iron, but by the late 19th century the design was increasingly constructed almost entirely from wrought iron and later steel.
