Lieutenant in the 24th Regiment of Foot - Gonville Bromhead (1845–1891) was a British Army officer famous for receiving the Victoria Cross—the highest military award for bravery in the British forces—for his leadership during the historic Defence of Rorke's Drift in January 1879 against Zulu forces.
